Terms of service

How we work together.

These terms cover use of this website and the general basis on which we take on work. Every project also has its own written agreement, and where the two differ, that agreement wins.

This website

The content here is provided for information. Prices and timings shown are accurate at the time of publication and confirmed in writing before any work begins. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance.

Quotes and prices

Package prices are for the scope described. Work outside that scope is quoted separately before it starts. Print estimates from the calculator are guided figures based on specification, and final costs are confirmed once we have seen the artwork.

Where a referral applies, any thank-you we extend is applied to the invoice rather than at the point of enquiry. One per project unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Payment

Projects are invoiced in stages set out in your agreement. Work begins once the first payment clears. Longer engagements are paid across the term rather than upfront.

Your rights in your book

You own your work. You retain copyright in your manuscript and publisher-of-record status on the ISBN, and you keep every penny of royalties from sales. We take no share of your book’s income at any point.

We ask permission before naming you, quoting you or showing your book on this website or in any other marketing. If you would rather we did not, that is fine and it changes nothing about the work.

What we are responsible for

Editorial and production work to the standard described, the publishing specification, and delivery to the agreed timeline. Where a campaign is part of your engagement, we are responsible for the agreed volume, quality and timing of outreach.

We are not responsible for whether a third party accepts a pitch, how many copies sell, or how a book is received. Nobody controls those, and we do not claim to.

Delays

Timelines assume you review and approve at the agreed points. Where a project runs long because a manuscript needs more work than expected, we tell you early and agree a revised plan rather than pressing on quietly.

Cancellation

Either side can end an engagement in writing. You pay for work completed to that point and we hand over everything produced so far, including files and account access.

Confidentiality

We treat unpublished manuscripts and anything you tell us about your business as confidential, and we expect the same in return regarding our process and materials.

Governing law

These terms and any project agreement are governed by the law of England and Wales.
